Fire crews found heavy smoke coming out of an apartment on the sixth floor. After evacuating the building and making their way inside, firefighters began attacking the blaze.

The fire did not extend to nearby units. Three people were treated by paramedics but released at the scene.

Dolly Cortones told Local 10 News the fire was in an apartment on a floor above, and debris fell on her balcony. She ran out of her apartment and knocked on doors to alert neighbors before evacuating.

Firefighters remained in the building after the fire was out to air out the remaining smoke.
