Partial roof collapse at warehouse triggers a search near Miami airport

Fire crews and rescue dogs are searching the rubble of a partial roof collapse at a warehouse near Miami International Airport Tuesday afternoon, officals said.

Around 1:20 p.m. Tuesday, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue rushed to reports of the collapse at the warehouse at 1955 NW 72nd Ave., authorities said. They found the size of the cave-in was about 80 feet by 25 feet.

There’ve been no reports of missing or trapped people inside, but firefighters did do a preliminary search of the unaffected areas of the building, fire rescue said.

Everyone inside the warehouse has been accounted for and no injuries were reported.

Fire rescue called dogs from the Urban Search and Rescue unit, which are waiting for structural engineers to give the all clear before searching the rubble.

Miami-Dade County’s Unsafe Structures board was notified, fire rescue said.
