Man electrocuted after hitting power line while trimming tree in Southwest Miami-Dade

A man was electrocuted Sunday morning after he hit a power line while cutting down a tree in Southwest Miami-Dade, deputies say.

Before 9 a.m., the adult man, whose identity has not been released, accidentally hit the power line while trimming parts of a palm tree. The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office said the man was already dead when they arrived on the scene, located on the 13900 block of Southwest 36th St.

The incident occurred in a residential area just outside Tamiami. It’s unclear if the man was lived in the area or was hired to cut down the tree.
