Three yachts went up in flames along the Miami River, fire officials say
Three yachts went up in flames along the Miami River in Northwest Miami-Dade early Friday morning, according to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.
At around 3:35 a.m. more than 30 fire rescue units responded to a boat fire near the 3200 block of Northwest North River Drive. Firefighters attacked the fire from land and water—using foam to knock down the blaze.
The yachts included two 60-foot yachts and one that was 90- feet long, according to Miami Herald news partner CBS Miami.

The fire has since been put out but units remain on scene to contain fuel runoff and “minimize the environmental impact of firefighting in the water,” MDFR said. A destroyed yacht could be seen partially sunken near the Miami Marine Center marina and Jones Boat Yard.
MDFR uses special equipment to clean up oil spills, including an oil-absorbent boom — a mesh-like sleeve made of high absorbent material that soaks up oil and surface sheen
There were no reported injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
