Police looking for man who attacked woman walking home in Northeast Miami-Dade

A woman walking home early Monday in Northeast Miami-Dade was attacked by a man. Police are hoping surveillance footage of the incident will help them find the assailant.

The attack happened at about 4:30 a.m. Monday near West Dixie Hwy and Northeast 115 Street.

In the video, the 38-year-old woman can be seen walking with her bicycle when a man runs up, knocks her down, and begins dragging her.

"He overpowered her and dragged her behind a business," said Miami-Dade Det. Alvaro Zabaleta. “She continued to fight him off and was able to escape before he raped her.”

The man is believed to be between 20 and 30 years old, 5-feet 7-inches and thin.
