Publix is open. Courts? Will garbage get picked up? What’s working on MLK Day in Miami
“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.” — Martin Luther King.
Martin Luther King Jr. Day honors the civil rights leader who was assassinated April 4, 1968, while organizing the Poor People’s Campaign. The holiday, sometimes also called MLK Day of Service, brings a pause to some public services, but the high-speed retail train —supermarkets, malls, big box stores, pharmacies — keeps rolling down the tracks.
So, Publix, Costco, Target, Aventura Mall, Walmart, Sedano’s, Dadeland Mall, etc. all will be open and accepting your money on an equal opportunity basis.
