Man found shot in the leg in Florida City, airlifted to hospital, police say
A man was found shot in the leg in Florida City early Thursday morning, according to police.
Officers responded around 1 a.m. to the area of 825 W. Lucy St., where they discovered the injured man, according to Sgt. David Hunsberger.
Police provided emergency medical aid until Miami-Dade Fire Rescue arrived and airlifted the victim to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson South. Police say the man is expected to survive.
No further information about the shooting has been released as the investigation continues.
