A man was killed after police say his car crashed into two other vehicles in Little Haiti near Miami Edison High, sparking a fire that seriously injured his passenger Monday afternoon.

The man was traveling southbound along Northwest 2nd Ave., past 62nd St., around 3:15 p.m. when his car crashed, said Officer Kiara Delva, a Miami police spokeswoman.

The driver, who has not been named, died at the scene, Delva added. Miami Fire Rescue took the woman to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Delva said police are investigating the crash and looking into whether the driver was distracted, had a medical issue or if something else was a factor into why he hit the other cars.

“The investigation remains ongoing,” she said.
