Two pedestrians were hit by cars in predawn hours. One is dead, another injured, police say

Two separate hit-and-runs in Miami left one man dead and another person injured, according to police.

At about 2:30 a.m. Thursday, first responders arrived to the area of Northwest Seventh Avenue and 15th Street and found a 59-year-old man unresponsive after reports of a pedestrian being hit by a car.

Miami Fire Rescue pronounced him dead at the scene.

Then at about 4:10 a.m., another hit-and-run incident was reported in the area of Northwest 22nd Avenue and 36th Street. Police said the pedestrian was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital in stable condition.

Police have yet to identify either victim or make any arrests.
