Two dead after an early morning fire in Miami-Dade, authorities say

Two people have died after they were found in a residence engulfed in flames early Friday morning, police say.

Two people have died after a Brownsville home was engulfed in flames early Friday morning, authorities say.

At about 3 a.m., first responders arrived to the 1900 block of NW 53rd St. after reports of a fire. Miami-Dade Fire Resuce arrived to extinguish the fire and were able to get a man and woman out of the home.

The pair were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital Ryder Trauma Center where they later died, police say.

Homicide detectives and arson investigators are on the case.
