An ATV careened into a canal Thursday afternoon after losing control, sending into the water two women — one of whom died from her injuries, according to police.

Around 1 p.m., the unidentified women were riding an ATV in the area of Southwest 112th Street and 157th Avenue when they lost control and drove into a nearby canal, Miami-Dade police said.

Both were pulled out of the water, and one was taken to West Kendall Baptist Hospital in critical condition.

She later died, police said.
