Miami-Dade cops identify man who they say was shot, killed while breaking into a car
The owner of a car shot and killed one of two men breaking into his vehicle Wednesday morning in Northwest Miami-Dade, police said.
On Thursday, Miami-Dade police identified him as 23-year-old Oscar Aneudy Suarez.
Around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday the owner confronted the pair trying to break into his parked vehicle near Northwest 79th Avenue and 194th Street, Miami-Dade police said.
After an “altercation” ensued, the owner took out a gun and shot at them, wounding Suarez, police spokesman Det. Angel Rodriguez said in a statement.
The men entered a nearby car, with Suarez hopping into the driver’s seat, and drove away.
“As they fled, they crashed into several parked vehicles,” Rodriguez said.
Suarez died in the car and his passenger took off running.
