Two Miami-Dade police officers and another driver injured in car crash near ZooMiami

Two Miami-Dade police officers were hospitalized in stable condition after a car crash with another driver Thursday morning.
The driver of the other car was also injured. All three people were taken to the hospital and are in stable condition, said Detective Luis Sierra.
The 7:30 a.m. crash happened at the intersection of Southwest 152nd Street and 117th Avenue by ZooMiami, Sierra said.
The officers were in one marked car and in “emergency mode” responding to a call as they were going through the intersection, Sierra said. The other driver likely didn’t see them driving through, he said.
The driver was taken to Jackson South Medical Center, and paramedics took the officers to Baptist Hospital in Kendall for medical evaluation, Sierra said.
