Traffic stalls on Florida’s Turnpike after fiery wreck

A vehicle rolled over and caught fire in the northbound lanes of the Florida's Turnpike just north of Okeechobee Road/U.S. 27 Monday night, bringing traffic to a halt.

Florida Highway Patrol Spokesman Joe Sanchez said there was only one car involved in the crash and the driver was pulled out of the burning car, which was completely charred. The person’s condition was unknown Monday night.

The accident happened at about 9:30 p.m. Monday.
