Happy July 4th. Give freedom to a shelter pet. (And keep your animals away from fireworks)

“Say hello to Eli A2455788, a furry friend with a unique personality. This 3-year-old dog has been at the shelter since April and is looking for a loving family to call his own. His adorable snaggletooth gives him a quirky personality trait that you won’t be able to resist. Eli loves playing fetch, participating in playgroups and being around his four-legged friends. He’s also very affectionate with handlers. Eli is a loyal companion who’s waiting to bring joy and love into your life.”
And, all pet owners should make sure to keep their animals safe and secure when noisy fireworks are around.
Pets are more sensitive to loud noises, flashing lights and strong smells. The Humane Society of the United States advises that on the Fourth of July, and other days people are likely to set off fireworks, it’s best to leave your pets safely indoors, preferably with a radio or TV turned on to soften jarring noises. If you’re unable to leave your pet unattended at home, keep them leashed and under your direct control at all times.
