Twin brothers died after one fell into a Miami-Dade park’s lake and his brother tried to rescue him, Miami-Dade police say.

Police identified the boys Monday as 13-year-olds Alex Paul and Andrew Paul.

Miami-Dade police say they were playing near the lake embankment at Arthur Woodard Park, 1299 NW 99th St., around 2:50 p.m. Friday when one of the brothers fell into the lake. His brother jumped in to save his sibling.

Someone called 911, bringing Miami-Dade police. Following officers’ CPR efforts, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue took the brothers to North Shore Medical Center, 1100 NW 95th St.

One of the Paul brothers died Friday afternoon. His brother died by 9:30 Friday night.
