You may notice an increase in military aircraft flying over Miami-Dade County in the upcoming days, but fear not: There is no need to panic.

A Department of Defense exercise from Jan. 24-25 will include military planes and helicopters soaring in the sky, the Miami-Dade Police Department said Monday.

Residents and visitors may experience a higher-than-normal level of noise associated with the aviation drill.

“This training is fully coordinated with local and federal government officials, and every effort will be made to ensure (it) is conducted safely and in accordance to federal regulations,” police said.
