UM fills out presidential search committee

The University of Miami has announced the rest of the members of its 13-person presidential search committee.

The 12 new members, who are a mix UM trustees and faculty members, will join committee chair Richard Fain, CEO of Royal Caribbean Cruises. The committee hopes to find a new UM president by the end of the 2014-15 academic year.

The university will be searching both nationally and internationally for candidates to replace Donna Shalala, who announced last month that she would retire in the spring of 2015.

The new search committee members are: ThinkLAB Ventures CEO Leonard Abess; Greenberg Traurig co-president Hilarie Bass; UM law professor Charlton Copeland; C3/CustomerContactChannels CEO David Epstein; UM student trustee representative Amy Halpern; Holland & Knight partner Marilyn Holifield; physics professor Neil Johnson; MBB Auto Group CEO Manny Kadre; Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center director Stephen Nimer; Related Group CEO Jorge Perez; UM education and human development dean Isaac Prilleltensky; and Summit Partners founding managing partner E. Roe Stamps IV.
