Miami-Dade Police are investigating a man’s body found in a canal in Kendale Lakes. Police said he was in his 80s. This is the second incident of a drowning in a canal in the last two days in the county.

The body of an elderly man was found in a Miami-Dade County canal Friday, authorities say.

Around 12:50 p.m., Miami-Dade police responded to a call saying a a person was found dead in a canal in the 13100 block of Southwest 51st Street, officers said.

Police said the man was in his 80s and was doing lawn work at the time. An investigation is underway.

This is the second body found in a Miami-Dade canal in the last two days. On Thursday, a person was found dead in a car in a Miami Springs canal.

It is unclear if the car was involved in a crash, but police said it was in the canal overnight.
