An American Airlines flight bound for Barbados was evacuated late Wednesday at Miami International Airport after fumes filled the cabin, according to reports.

Several passengers were sickened by the chemical smell, which came from a passenger’s carry-on bag, according to Miami Herald news partner CBS Miami.

Miami-Dade rescue crews surrounded the plane at the Miami airport and passengers were taken off the flight. The flight is expected to take off at 9 a.m. Thursday.
