MIA thanks, pays tribute to Dwyane Wade
Since Thursday night, Miami International Airport has welcomed visitors into Miami-Wade County.
The large overpass welcome sign has been flashing a thank-you message to Miami Heat star Dwayne Wade, who has signed a one-year contract to stay Miami. The $20-million deal was announced on Thursday.
“Home is where the Heat is! We’re cleared for takeoff for next season,” read post from the airport’s Twitter acccount, along with a picture.

Wade, who has been in a Heat uniform his entire professional career, retweeted the photo and updated his social media accounts with a nostalgic message for Miami: “My city, my home, my house...’till the end, est. 2003.”
Airport officials said the sign will stay up through midnight Friday.
