Arrest at a Biscayne Boulevard motel of a Miami man accused of murdering his father

Eight days after Miami-Dade police say they found Maurice Wright Sr. dead in his home, they found found their murder suspect in a Biscayne Boulevard motel — Maurice Wright, Jr.

The 27-year-old Maurice Wright was arrested Wednesday afternoon after Miami-Dade police’s Special Response Team blasted open the door of room No. 44 at the Sinbad Motel, 6150 Biscayne Blvd., in Miami.

Police believe Wright used an assault rifle to kill his 50-year-old father on May 30 at a home in the 3000 block of Northwest 64th Street. with an assault rifle. Cops say they found the father lying in bed, shot to death

It was not clear Wednesday what led investigators to his son, who was out on bond after an April arrest on felony cocaine possession and knowingly driving without a license charges.
