Yes, Monday is Presidents’ Day. Maybe you forgot about it until your child mentioned there’s no school. And now you are texting co-workers to see if you have to be on the job.

If you’re not certain of your work status on the holiday, Publix, Walmart, Walgreens, Navarro and the big South Florida malls are certain of their status: Open, like they want your wallet to be.

Now, about those public services linked to local, state and national government:

U.S. Postal Service

No mail delivery, no branches open.

Banks

The Federal Reserve is closed, which means your bank branch likely is closed. But it’s not a lock, so if you really need to go inside a branch to conduct business, check with the bank.

Stock markets

New York Stock Exchange: Closed.

NASDAQ: Closed.

Mass Transit

Miami-Dade: Metrobus, Metrorail and Metromover will be on a regular weekday schedule.

Broward: Modified weekday schedule.

Tri-Rail: Regular weekday schedule

Garbage

Miami: Pickup as usual.

Miami-Dade: Pickup as usual.

Broward: Closed, except for the NSU Alvin Sherman Library, open 7 a.m. to midnight. Online services remain available.

Parks

Miami-Dade: Open.

Broward: All parks, nature center, natural areas open, except Deerfield Island Park and the Markham Park Target Range.
