A woman was killed Tuesday morning in a shooting at a home in Northwest Miami-Dade, police said.

The shooting happened at a home at 2989 NW 43rd Ter. at about 2:30 a.m.

“Units responded to the area in reference to shots fired. They searched the area but were not able to locate anyone injured,” Miami-Dade police spokesman Alvaro Zabaleta said.

But when the residents woke up Tuesday morning, they found a woman in her 40s dead from a gunshot wound, he said.

Police identified the dead woman as Caroline Frye, 49, of Miami.

Police have not released details in the case.
