The Miami-Dade Expressway Authority (MDX) has announced the planning of a new park and ride facility to be built on Northwest 12 Street, near Northwest 122nd Avenue, to support a future express bus system on State Road 836.
Miami-Dade Commissioner Jose “Pepe” Diaz spearheaded the effort to coordinate MDX, Miami-Dade County, and the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), and speed delivery of the facility. The new transit hub will serve the nearby cities of Sweetwater, Doral and the Dolphin Mall.
The Dolphin Park and Ride Terminal Facility is scheduled to open between late 2017 and early 2018. Once construction is completed, Miami-Dade Transit will operate and maintain the facility.
