Car crashes into Miami car dealership, injuring driver and damaging vehicles on lot

A driver was taken to the hospital after his Cadillac crashed through the fence of a used car dealership and smashed into several parked vehicles.

Miami-Dade police say the crash happened around 5 a.m. Tuesday inside the lot of America Auto Wholesale Inc., 9815 NW 27th Ave. The dealership is a few minutes from the North Central Branch Library.

Police say the car briefly caught fire following the crash and that a tow truck was called to remove the vehicle.

Local 10, which first reported the crash, recorded the Cadillac on top of several vehicles and says it damaged at least seven cars in the lot. WSVN’s helicopter recorded multiple damaged cars in the lot, including a black truck with heavy damage in the hood and in the rear.

The driver was taken to a nearby hospital, according to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue. His condition is still unknown.

The streets in the area were briefly closed during the crash and have since reopened.

Police say the crash is under investigation.
