At least one person taken to the hospital after a boat capsizes near Black Point Marina

At least one person was taken to the hospital after a boat capsized in the waters near Black Point Marina Sunday afternoon, according to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.

Details about the person’s condition was not immediately available.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue says they sent multiple units to the marina, 24775 Southwest 87 Ave., including a fire boat and fire truck, to assist Miami-Dade Police with the rescue.

The call about the overturned boat came in around 1:30 p.m., according to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue records. Multiple people were reportedly on board.

It is still unclear how many people were on the boat or how many have been rescued. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue says they are still responding to the “active call.”
