Multi-car crashes block each direction of I-95 during afternoon rush hour
Tuesday afternoon drivers on Interstate 95, whether traveling northbound or southbound in Miami-Dade, likely found themselves behind crashes that at least briefly shut down all lanes.
Around 3:20 p.m., a crash that Florida Highway Patrol said involved three cars, one of which was on fire, blocked all lanes of southbound I-95 coming out of the Golden Glades Interchange as storms began. FHP said there only minor injuries were suffered.
Lanes on the right side of that were starting to open up around 3:50 p.m. when a multi-car crash on northbound I-95 shut down all lanes down near State Road 836.
Biscayne Boulevard or Northwest Seventh Avenue or Northwest 12th Avenue might be better options for heading north.
