Customers visiting the restaurants and galleries of Wynwood will have to feed the meter now that the Miami Parking Authority has instituted new parking fees in the neighborhood.
The parking agency rolled out its new parking program Wednesday. Enforced by a pay-by-phone system that can also be accessed with a smartphone app, the new program will be enforced inside a perimeter from the railroad tracks on the east to Northwest Sixth Avenue on the west and from Northwest 20th Street on the south to Northwest 29th Street on the north. Drivers can register by going to www.paybyphone.com.
Parking enforcement officers won’t begin ticketing violators until Oct. 15.
