From buses to schools to Publix, here’s everything that’s open and closed on Presidents’ Day
Another holiday is upon us and Presidents’ Day will not be affecting stores as much as New Year’s Day and Christmas, but county and city offices will be seeing closures.
Here are the closures near you:
FOOD AND DRUGSTORES
Aldi: Stores will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. as usual.
CVS and Navarro: Check your location as hours vary. Most of the pharmacies are open on Presidents’ Day.
The Fresh Market: Stores will be open regular hours, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Milam Market: Will be open during regular hours.
Publix: Most Publix stores will be open. Check stores near you.
Winn-Dixie: All Winn-Dixie stores will be open.
Sedano’s: Most stores will be open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Some stores may open at 7 a.m. The 24-hour stores will remain open.
Target: Stores will be open.
Trader Joe’s: Stores will open at regular hours.
Walgreens: Check your location as hours vary. Most of the pharmacies are open on Presidents’ Day.
Walmart: Regular store hours, including the pharmacies, at all locations.
Whole Foods Market: Check your store, but most will be open.
Public Schools
Miami-Dade: Miami-Dade County Public Schools will be closed.
Broward: Broward County Public Schools will be closed on Presidents’ Day.
MASS TRANSIT
Miami-Dade: Metrobus, Metrorail and Metromover will run on a regular schedule on Presidents’ Day, although Route 95 Express Golden Glades for the Metrobus will operate less frequently.
Broward: Broward County Transit will run normally.
Tri-Rail: Tri-Rail will be running on its normal schedule.
BANKS
TD Bank will be open on Presidents’ Day, but most other major banks will be closed. Check with your bank.
LIBRARIES
Miami-Dade: All branches will be closed on Presidents’ Day.
Broward: All branches will be closed, but Nova Southeastern University Alvin Sherman Library, Research and Information Technology Center will remain open.
County Government
Miami: All Miami-Dade County offices will be closed.
Broward: Broward County offices will be closed on President’s Day
Courts
Federal: The Southern District of Florida courts will be closed.
Miami-Dade County Court: All Miami-Dade courthouses will be closed on Presidents’ Day.
Eleventh Judicial Circuit: Miami-Dade circuit courts will be closed.
Broward County Court: Broward County courthouses will be open.
Seventeenth Judicial Circuit: Broward circuit courts will be open.
City Government
Miami: City of Miami offices will be closed during Presidents’ Day, with exception to those that must stay open like Miami police and fire rescue.
Fort Lauderdale: The City of Fort Lauderdale’s offices will be open.
Key West: Key West city offices will be closed.
Homestead: The offices of the City of Homestead will be closed.
Marathon: City offices in Marathon will be closed.
