Music video shoot devolves into chaos. Machete-wielding man shot, sent to hospital, cops say
A music video being shot in Sweetwater didn’t go as planned when arguing started and someone pulled out a knife Saturday afternoon, police said.
Just after 3:30 p.m., a Sweetwater police officer driving around the area of 112th Avenue and Southwest Seventh Street heard gunshots, police said. When he raced over, he saw a large group of people starting to disperse.
When officers searched the area to find out what was going on they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, and his condition is unknown, police said.
Officers spoke to some of the people who went running and they were told two men got into an argument during the shooting of a music video. One of the men pulled out a knife and someone from the crowd snatched it away, police said.
With his knife gone, he went into a nearby home and got a machete. As he went back to the man he was originally threatening, that man shot him.
The shooter is being questioned by police. No arrests have been made yet, police said.
