Video shows a woman stripping at the Miami airport baggage claim

You see all kinds of things at the airport. But the people involved are usually dressed.

Filmmaker Billy Corben posted a video on Twitter that got some attention Wednesday morning. Corben’s familiar caption: “Because Miami.”

A woman is seen at Miami International Airport, wearing either a two-piece bathing suit or bra and underwear. She is walking confidently by, while singing an unrecognizable tune.

Suddenly, she begins to wiggle out of her top, then strip, never breaking stride.

A uniformed worker steps into the frame, stunned at the sight of a naked person. Two women look on and snicker.

Corben credited the post to a local man with the handle Tommy in Hialeah, who said that it was shot by a “friend.”

Listen to today's top stories from the Miami Herald:

The Miami Herald reached out to “Tommy” on the circumstances of the woman’s public strip tease.

A spokesman for Miami-Dade police said that the naked woman, who was seen on Twitter by another bystander later jumping on top of a patrol car in busy traffic outside, was taken into custody Monday night for an involuntary mental health evaluation.

“On Monday, Jan. 13, 2020, at approximately 11:40 p.m., Miami-Dade Police Department, Airport District officers, were dispatched to a call of a naked female running through the Miami International Airport (MIA) baggage claim area,” reads the police statement. “The naked female was located at the MIA Central Plaza parking garage exit, behaving erratically. After conducting his investigation, the responding officer took her into custody and transported her to a nearby receiving facility for an involuntary examination, under the Florida Baker Act statute.”
