One man injured, another in custody in Miami Springs shooting, cops say

A shooting in Miami Springs put one man in the hospital, police say.

According to Miami Springs police, officers responded to the area of Northwest 36th Street and Curtiss Parkway just after 5:15 p.m. Friday.

A man who had been shot needed to be taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital for surgery. As of Friday evening, he was in stable condition, according to Miami Springs Police Chief Armando Guzman.

Officers have taken another man into custody. The relationship between the suspect and the man who was shot was unclear. Police did not release either man’s name.

The two men were from out of town and staying at the nearby Parkway Inn Airport Motel, located at 777 Curtis Parkway, according to Guzman.

Police have yet to find the firearm involved in the shooting.

The investigation is ongoing.
