A fancy yacht was destroyed by fire at a Miami marina, and it belonged to Marc Anthony

Flames engulfed a 120-foot yacht off the MacArthur Causeway Wednesday night.

Multiple sources say the yacht belongs to singer-actor Marc Anthony who had performed a date on his Opus Tour in Puerto Rico on Sunday night.

The salsa star’s publicist confirmed to WPLG Local 10 that the yacht belonged to Anthony.

Miami Fire Rescue responded to reports of a boat fire at 888 MacArthur Causeway at the Island Gardens Marina on Watson Island.

Pictures show heavy flames and smoke against the night sky.

Anthony was not aboard the 120-foot yacht, named Andiamo, which had five cabins, room to sleep 12 people and had a sale value of about $7 million, according to TMZ.

Listen to today's top stories from the Miami Herald:

According to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, which assisted Miami crews in fighting the blaze, two crew members were on board but were able to get off safely and there were no reported injuries.

“Aside from putting out the fire, MDFR crews also are deployed to minimize the environmental impact of firefighting on the water by utilizing specialized oil spill response equipment,” the department said in a Facebook post. “This equipment entails an oil absorbent boom which is a strong mesh-like sleeve that encases a highly-absorbent material that soaks up oil and surface sheen.‬

“Boat fires can quickly go from a small compartment fire into an unstoppable blaze in a matter of minutes because of the material found onboard these vessels,” Miami-Dade Fire said in the post.‬

Miami Fire Capt. Ignatius Carroll said it took firefighters nearly two hours to get the blaze under control. Both Miami Fire Rescue and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue used their fireboats to douse the fire.

Carroll said no other vessels were damaged and confirmed that no injuries were reported.

On Thursday morning Carroll also could not confirm whether the yacht belonged to Anthony but said as investigators begin processing the now secured boat in daylight more information should be released later in the day.

The boat, however, suffered severe damage.

“This boat right now is partially under water,” Carroll said.

It was not immediately clear what caused the fire.

Anthony has hosted some of his famous friends on the yacht over the years, posting one picture to his Instagram with DJ Khaled in its jacuzzi. The Blast reported and posted photos of Anthony hosting David Beckham and his wife Victoria Beckham on the yacht on Easter Sunday in 2018.
