Two men beat a man 15 times with a gun in a warehouse parking lot, police say
Confronted in a parking lot and then ambushed, a man was pistol whipped at least 15 times before being beaten for several minutes by two men, police said.
Two of the men connected to the attack are at large.
On Dec. 10, Keyci Pujada Rios set up a meeting between Osman Montes De Oca and an unidentified man, Medley police said. They met in the parking lot of warehouses in the 7500 block of Northwest 82nd Street.
Cameras captured the trio driving in a black 2020 Toyota Corolla and talking for some time.
Some time later, one of the three began talking to Maykel Alvarez, also in the parking lot. Police did not say what Alvarez was doing there.
While talking, De Oca and the unidentified man ambushed Alvarez, police said.
Alvarez told police De Oca turned off the car and stopped him from leaving. De Oca then hit Alvarez in the face and head at least 15 times with the stock of a gun. He then tried to put Alvarez in the trunk of his car with the help of the unidentified man.
They weren’t successful and instead tried to shove Alvarez into the back seat. After being punched, kicked and beaten with a gun for about 10 minutes, Alvarez eventually got into the driver seat and sped off.
A few seconds later, Alvarez crashed into a fence in between two warehouses, about 100 feet from the parking lot. He told police De Oca told him “give me your money or I’m going to kill you.”
Alvarez’s wallet and cellphone were taken, police said. Officers found zip ties with blood inside his car.
Pujada Rios was arrested Thursday, but De Oca and the unidentified man are still on the loose.
Police ask anyone with information to call Detective F. Perez at 305-962-2458 or Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-8477.
