Haiti forum will be held at North Miami Regional Library

HistoryMiami is hosting a forum on “Haiti & The Reverberation of Freedom” at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the North Miami Regional Library, 2455 NW 183 St.

The free forum will explore a pivotal period in the region’s history. Speakers include Victor Uribe, chair of the Department of History at Florida International University; Okezi T. Otovo, assistant professor of History in African and African Diaspora Studies at FIU and Ashli White, associate professor at the University of Miami’s Department of History. All three speakers also are book authors.

The discussion will be moderated by Felix Jean-Louis, an FIU PhD student of History of the African Diaspora with a focus on Haiti.
