Miami-Dade Police

A 34-year-old man by the name of Terrance Byrd is wanted for murder, and Miami-Dade police need your help in finding him.

Detectives say Byrd shot a man named James Andrew Lawrence last week near the intersection of Northwest 87th Street and Northwest 12th Avenue.

Nearby police officers ran toward the bloody man who was sprinting across the street with gunshot wounds. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue arrived shortly after.

Lawrence died from his injuries at Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center on April 5. Byrd is now wanted for second-degree murder.

"Investigators are seeking the assistance of the community in locating Terrance Byrd," police said in a statement Friday. "He is considered armed and dangerous."

A tip that leads to Byrd's arrest may be rewarded with up to $3,000, police said. Anyone with information is urged to contact CrimeStoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
