Miami-Dade County

Here’s why miles of this west Miami-Dade street will be closed early Saturday morning

For drivers planning to be out in the wee hours of the morning this weekend, make plans to adjust your route if you normally travel on Galloway Road.

Utility work on gas pipelines will cause about eight miles of 87th Avenue to be closed between West Flagler Street and Kendall Drive from 12 a.m. to 4 a.m. early Saturday.

The work is being done by the Florida Gas Transmission Company and will also shut down Milam Dairy Road from Northwest 65th Street south to Flagler Street. A stretch of Flagler Street will also be closed between Milam Dairy and Galloway.

Workers already performed a test late Wednesday into early Thursday morning but the company said more work was needed. And if more issues are found, the testing and closures could happen again.
