Miami police officer injured in car crash
A Miami police officer was injured Sunday afternoon in a car crash.
The officer, who was not identified, was heading south in his Ford Crown Victoria on Northwest 27th Avenue at First Street when the police car was hit by a 2002 Mitsubishi Gallant.
Detectives say the Gallant driver was heading north on Northwest 27th Avenue when he attempted to make a left turn to head east on Northwest First Street.
The officer suffered head injuries in the collision and was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center in stable condition for tests.
The Gallant driver suffered minor injuries, according to Miami police.
