Don Shula Expressway (SR 874) reopens after being closed in both directions

UPDATED: As of 5:15 p.m., the Don Shula Expressway has reopened.

As Tuesday afternoon’s rush hour begins the Don Shula Expressway (SR 874), is closed in both directions in South Miami-Dade because a man nearby is threatening suicide.

Also, Sunset Drive (Southwest 72nd Street) is closed in both directions from Southwest 87th Avenue to 92nd Avenue.

Miami-Dade police say the man has barricaded himself in his vehicle in an open field at Southwest 89th Court and Sunset Drive and is threatening suicide.
