Police ordered students to evacuate the Blue Garage at 10880 SW 16th St. A school spokeswoman said no one would be able to retrieve their cars.
It was not immediately known what forced the closing.
Alex Villanueva, 26, was among the dozens of frustrated people waiting to be allowed to go to his car.
Villanueva, on campus since early afternoon, said he was in a hurry to his mom's birthday dinner.
"Homemade dinner, cake, presents, all of that," he said.
