These NICU babies wore Halloween costumes that captured their tiny personalities
The Center for Women & Infants’ Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at South Miami Hospital hosted its annual Halloween costume contest for its tiniest patients and their families.
The costumes selected for the premature or critically ill newborns were intended to capture the tiny personalities. Among the featured characters: Superman or Wonder Woman, of course.
More than 1,000 premature or critically ill infants are treated each year in the NICU, many born weighing only a pound or two. The event is a celebration of hope that provides families an opportunity to interact with their babies and with the physicians and nurses who care for them.
