Four motorists were killed in two separate accidents early Wednesday morning.
Three people were killed during a crash that occurred at approximately 1:20 a.m. on Miami Lakes Drive and North Miami Lakeway Road, Miami-Dade Police reported.
Investigators said that a man in his 40s and two women in their 30s were headed west on Miami Lakes Drive in a red Nissan Altima. The driver lost control and crashed into a wall before eventually ending up smashed into a light pole. Police did not immediately release the names of the three deceased and said speed likely played a factor in the accident.
Officers also responded to a crash with one reported fatality at Lejeune Road and Northwest 36 Street. The driver was headed east on Northwest 36 Street, apparently lost control and crashed into a light pole on the median. The driver died at the scene and the name has not yet been released. The passenger, 20-year-old Hunter Kayman, was transported to the Ryder Trauma Center and is in stable but guarded condition.
