Late night, early morning commuters take note: Turnpike closure in Southwest Miami-Dade
All Southbound lanes of Florida's Turnpike at Southwest 120th Street in Southwest Miami-Dade will be shut down later this week as workers pour concrete as a part of a widening project.
Beginning at a 11 p.m. Thursday through 5 a.m. Friday, drivers will be forced to exit at Southwest 120th St and be detoured east to Southwest 117th Avenue. Drivers will then head south to Southwest 152nd Street/Coral Reef Drive and then east on Southwest 152nd Street/Coral Reef Drive to re-enter the Turnpike.
If the work is not completed, the lanes will also be closed from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Oct. 18 and Thursday Oct. 19.
The work is part of a $145.3 million widening project on Florida’s Turnpike between Eureka Drive/Southwest 184th Street to Killian Parkway/Southwest 104th Street.
The work could be postponed for bad weather.
