Two puppies stranded by Harvey find safety in the hands of Miami-Dade fire rescuers
Two puppies displaced by Hurricane Harvey are now safe thanks to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue firefighters deployed to Texas.
The firefighters, part of the department's 45-member Florida Task Force 1 Urban Search and Rescue Task Force, left for Texas Sunday to help in rescue efforts.
“But in the midst of tragedy came hope when a crew . . . came across two puppies that had been displaced by Harvey and were stranded, waiting to be rescued,” the department said in a news release.
On Thursday, the department shared a photo of two firefighters holding the puppies, which were found near Angelton, Texas.
According to the department, the puppies were in good health.
