19-year-old shot and taken to hospital

A 19-year-old was shot Saturday morning and taken to Ryder Trauma Center for injuries, Miami Fire Rescue said.

Police responded around 8 a.m. to a shooting at 5231 SW 6th St., where they transported the teenager for non-life threatening injuries, said Captain Ignatius Carroll.

More details about the shooting were not immediately released.
