Computer problems delay Metrorail, Metromover in Miami
A computer glitch brought down all of Metrorail and parts of Metromover early Friday morning, much to the chagrin of commuters.
Miami-Dade Transit’s computer system failed at 7 a.m. Friday, causing widespread intermittent delays and forcing airport travelers to rely on a bus shuttle that ran from MIA to Earlington Heights, according to the transit agency’s official Twitter account.
The computer failure also briefly shut down Metromover at Brickell Station, by the Omni loop in downtown Miami.
By 8:40, Miami-Dade Transit was able to resume services for most of the Metrorail, with the exception of rails to Miami International Airport.
Metrorail right now. Not an all clear yet, but the trains are moving. Except from MIA. pic.twitter.com/wUrn3II0IS
