Annual Miami Passport Day set for Sept. 17

If you keep forgetting to set an appointment for updating or renewing your passport, here’s your chance.

Saturday, Sept. 17, the U.S. State Department’s Miami Passport Agency will welcome walk-ups from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at its downtown Miami office in the Omni Center, 1501 Biscayne Blvd., Suite 210.

Customers will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Normal passport application requirements, fees and processing times apply. You must have proof of U.S. citizenship (U.S. birth certificates must be certified), a recent, clear 2-inch-by-2-inch color photo; valid government-issued photo ID and proper payment. Minors under 16 must apply in person; both parents must consent in writing via the proper form. For application forms and information, see travel.state.gov or call 877-487-2778.

Normally, the Miami office is open Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., for those with appointments. To book an appointment, you must have proof of travel within 14 days.
