On Thursday, ABC News’ Gio Benitez proposed to his boyfriend, actor-model Tommy DiDario, in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

Both men posted photos of their engagement on Instagram. The pictures, by Paris photographer Pierre Torset, immediately went worldwide.

On Friday Benitez’s Good Morning America colleagues congratulated him on-air.

A Miami native, Benitez, 29, began his TV news career at CBS4. He joined the station as a 17-year-old Coral Park High School intern and worked his way up to weekend anchor. In 2012, ABC News hired him as a reporter.
