Panicking Florida woman dies during Keys diving trip

A 41-year-old woman died over the weekend during a diving excursion in the Keys, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

Andre Moody of Lakeland was aboard the boat Lost Continent around 10 a.m. Saturday when she jumped into the water and began panicking off Islamorada’s Pleasure Reef. A group pulled her back onto the boat but by then she was unconscious, according to the sheriff’s office.

Paramedics were waiting at the Islamorada Coast Guard station and she was taken to Mariner’s Hospital where she died.
